Kathy Michelle Chacón is a Salvadoran-American film journalist and critic whose work has been featured at publications including the A.V. Club, Paste Magazine, Film Cred, and the Cambridge Film Festival. Born and raised in California's Inland Empire, Kathy obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Cultural Studies from the University of California, Riverside before receiving a Master of Philosophy in Film and Screen Studies from the University of Cambridge, King's College, where she was a 2024 Gates Cambridge Scholar. Her previous research and research interests include Latin American cinema, maternal horror cinema, and feminist film theory.
